Xenon reversing lamps in the taillights are a useful and pleasant option that allows you not to strain your eyes while reversing in the dark. When choosing lamps, be guided by a color temperature of 5000 K, which gives the optimal brightness of light with a slightly bluish tint.

It is necessary

  • - xenon kit with H11 / H9 lamps;
  • - screwdrivers with flat and cross-shaped holes;
  • - pliers, open-end wrenches and socket heads;
  • - multimeter (tester).

Instructions

Step 1

Disconnect the negative cable from the corresponding battery terminal. Disassemble the luggage compartment lining to access the interior of the rear lights or the separately mounted reversing light. Remove the lights, disassemble them and take out the standard reversing lamps. To install a new xenon lamp, modify the board by drilling holes for the wiring in it.

Step 2

When installing the lamp, be careful not to modify the base structure. This will allow, as a last resort, to quickly return the standard halogen bulbs to their place. Disassemble the standard socket, remove the leads with the wires, pass the wires through the holes in the socket and fill with silicone sealant.

Step 3

Pass the wires through the holes made and secure the lamp in place. Seal the wires in the holes with sealant. Take the wire connectors from the kit for the lamps. Fix the ignition units in any convenient place, protected from moisture and dirt, using self-tapping screws. Connect the lamps to the blocks, strictly observing the polarity of the connection. After that, install the board inside the flashlight and check the functionality of the xenon.

Step 4

Using a multimeter in the standard wiring harness, select the positive and negative wires of the reversing lamps. On xenon lamps, the positive wire is highlighted in red, the negative wire in black. Connect the ignition units to the found wires using special clamps from the connection kit. Be sure to observe the polarity when doing this. When installation is complete, reassemble and install all previously removed and disassembled parts.

Step 5

Insulate all wire connections carefully. At the end of the work, check the functionality of the reversing lights. Make sure there is a fuse in the power wires. If it is absent, put it yourself, choosing a nominal value of 0.5 A.
