In cases where the level of coolant in the radiator of a VAZ 2112 car steadily decreases for no apparent reason, most likely the car owner will have to make a pump. Or, in the correct technical language, to repair the water pump of the engine cooling system. Antifreeze losses occur, as a rule, due to increased wear of pump parts: oil seal, bearing, impeller.
It is necessary
- Repair kit for water pump,
- drift,
- a hammer,
- screwdriver,
- universal puller.
Instructions
Step 1
A similar malfunction is detected when the engine is idling, when extraneous noise is heard from under the hood, which is created by a faulty water pump bearing. In this case, it is required to remove the pump from the engine and disassemble it in order to replace worn parts.
Step 2
The task is performed according to the following scheme:
- find and unscrew the bearing fixing screw from the pump housing with a screwdriver, - using a universal puller, the toothed pulley is removed from the pump shaft,
-. carefully clamping the water pump body in a locksmith's vice, the bearing together with the impeller is knocked out of the body with a punch and a hammer;
- all working parts of the water pump (bearing and oil seal) must be replaced with new parts from the repair kit.
Step 3
The pump is assembled in the reverse order:
- the oil seal is pressed into the pump housing, - the shaft with the bearing is pressed in, - the locking screw is tightened, which then needs to be tightened;
- the impeller and the toothed pulley are installed.
