Compliance with all prescribed break-in rules allows you to maximize the engine life and enjoy its trouble-free operation for a long time. Competent implementation of this stage of the engine operation allows you to avoid problems and troubles when operating VAZ vehicles.
Instructions
Step 1
Try to keep the break-in "even". Avoid sudden engine acceleration and deceleration. Find a long, unoccupied highway. The essence of running in is uniform movement according to a specific schedule.
Step 2
Drive the first 200 km at a constant speed of 70 km / h. Keep the revs close to 2000 rpm. Drive the next 300 km at 80 km / h. The engine speed should be around 2500 rpm. Then change the engine oil.
Step 3
Drive for 1000 km without sudden acceleration in IV gear at a speed not exceeding 90 km / h. Keep the revolutions no more than 3000 rpm. Then change the engine oil and flush the engine thoroughly.
Step 4
There is also a more subtle break-in scheme for VAZ engines used by race car drivers. Drive smoothly for the first 250 km, in 4th gear. Increase the engine speed smoothly from 2000 to 2500, and then smoothly reduce to 2000. The speed should vary from 70 to 80 km / h. And so on for all 250 km.
Step 5
Drive the second 250 km in exactly the same way, but vary the revs in the range between 2500 and 3000 rpm. The speed will increase from 80 to 90 km / h. When finished, change the oil. Drive the next 500 km with a smooth change in rpm from 3000 to 3500. And for the last 500 km, smoothly increase and decrease the revs from 3000 to 4000 rpm. Vary the speed from 80 to 100 km / h. When finished, change the oil and flush the engine.
Step 6
During the running-in process, use a regular engine oil filled at the factory or imported mineral oil with SAE 15W40 or 10W30. At the end of the running-in process, use any oil, increase the engine load smoothly, avoid sudden increases in speed. Carry out the following oil changes after driving 5,000 km, 7,500 km and 10,000 km.
Step 7
Until a total mileage of 10,000 km is reached, do not rotate the engine more than 4500 rpm. Excessive loads of the car, off-road driving, driving with a trailer, transportation of excessively heavy loads are unacceptable.
