If you need to replace the gasket, oil pump or crankshaft, the first step is to remove the oil pan. Removing it, for example, from a VAZ 2107 car is not easy enough. However, you can do this yourself.
Instructions
Step 1
To get started, place your car on a viewing hole or drive it onto an overpass. Remove the mudguard. Then drain the oil from the crankcase of the car engine. For this purpose, prepare a container suitable for draining the oil in advance. It must have a capacity of more than 4 liters. It is best to drain the oil with a well-heated engine. To drain the oil, you must first remove the oil filler cap. Then, using a 12 mm hex wrench, unscrew the plug that is installed in the drain hole of the oil pan. Drain all the oil into a prepared container.
Step 2
Then, remove the nuts that secure the power unit mounts to the cross member. Place a jack under the clutch housing. Raise the car engine through the spacer and remove the support pins from the cross member. Place a thick piece of wood on the front fenders. Hang the engine on the ropes to it. Using a 10mm socket wrench, remove the nineteen bolts that secure the engine oil pan. Remove it from the engine. Note that there is a gasket between the pallet and the engine. If there are traces left on the joint, be sure to remove them with a knife or other suitable tool.
Step 3
Before installing the pallet, it must be well rinsed from the inside with kerosene. Install all removed parts in reverse order. Be sure to replace the old pallet gasket with a new one. Tighten the bolts evenly. Observe the tightening torque. It doesn't take much effort. Otherwise, the oil pan flange may be deformed.
Step 4
Fill the engine with oil. Wait 2-3 minutes and remove the dipstick. Pay attention to the oil level. It should be above the minimum but below the maximum. Install the oil filler cap. Run the engine for a few minutes. Then stop it and check the oil level again. The installation site of the filter gasket and drain plug must be free of leaks.
