A rain sensor in a car can be indispensable when the weather leaves much to be desired. The device is especially convenient in drizzling rain, because in this case you have to turn on and off the wipers in manual mode. And if your car is doused with dirty water from under an oncoming car, the sensor is triggered before you have time to reach out to turn on the "wipers".

Instructions

Step 1

After purchasing the rain sensor, check the contents of the device. The kit includes the actual sensor, control unit, connecting wires and documentation for installation and operation.

Step 2

Determine where to install the sensor. It is most convenient to place the controller on the left side of the passenger compartment under the steering column. To do this, dismantle the steering column panel. On the panel, you will find a harness consisting of wires coming from the switch to the block. Disconnect it. Use the location on the metal panel where the headlamp control unit is to mount the sensor unit.

Step 3

Stick the sensor to the glass with Velcro. The attachment point should be such that the "wiper" passes over the sensor and wipes the glass well.

Step 4

For better installation of the sensor on the glass, slightly heat the surface and the tape with which it is attached with a hairdryer. At the same time, do not allow the appearance of ripples on the adhesive tape, indicating its deformation. Place the sensor on the glass evenly and at the same time with the entire surface. For better clamping of the sensor, use special clamping suction cups with paws.

Step 5

Run the wires along the windshield and the left pillar, lowering them into the steering column area and connecting them to the controller. In this case, a thin black wire goes to turn on the first speed, the blue one turns on the second speed, a thick black wire with a purple stripe is connected to the constant "plus", and a thin gray wire will turn on the spray mode on the glass.

Step 6

It is not enough to simply turn on the sensor button to activate the system. When you turn it on, you will find that the monitoring LED on the windshield where the sensor is installed turns on and off, going into standby mode. Now make one sweep of the janitor; the system will automatically switch to operating mode. The LED will now turn on continuously.
