Does your car look less attractive to you? It seems to you that something is missing in the appearance of the car, can I add something? Do you want your "iron horse" to be defiant, to look stylish? There are several ways to resolve these issues. Installing a spoiler is one of them. The spoiler is usually a plastic (fiberglass, carbon fiber) plate that changes the aerodynamic properties of the car body. It is installed on sports cars in order to improve the aerodynamics of the car, which is one of the main characteristics along with the characteristics of the engine. A spoiler is often confused with a wing, which creates downforce due to its shape and prevents the car from taking off.
Instructions
Step 1
On ordinary passenger cars, a spoiler is placed for beauty, to give the car a more aggressive look. It is usually installed on the back of the body or on the roof of a car.
Step 2
The spoiler must be placed close to the body. Improper installation can cause significant damage, such as increased fuel consumption and increased aerodynamic lift.
Step 3
There are two ways to install spoilers: Spoiler on supports. It is attached to the body with bolts. Sticky spoilers. They are attached to the body with double-sided tape. The second method of installation is significantly inferior to the first in the quality of fastening. A sticky spoiler may just fall off at one point. Therefore, it is better not to consider an installation of this type.
Step 4
Let's take a closer look at the first option, a spoiler on the supports.
If you install it yourself, you will need an assistant who will support the spoiler during the measuring work and drilling the bolt holes. But carefully remove all dimensions several times before drilling. Otherwise, you may end up drilling the holes in the wrong place. Think about whether you need a leaky body?
Step 5
It is necessary to measure the distance between the holes on the part, then transfer it to the car. During these measurements, you should already have found the center of the machine.
Step 6
Measurement work completed. Proceed to attach the spoiler. Complete with it should be bolts and plates on which the thread for the bolts is applied. If you have taken good measurements and drilled holes where necessary, then it will not be difficult for you to bolt the spoiler.
Step 7
Washers are put on the bolts, and then the nuts are screwed on. Do not tighten the fasteners too much, because the plastic from which the spoiler is made can crack.
