The engine of a modern "Kamaz" is much more reliable than that of most passenger cars. But even with him, from time to time, difficulties may arise that require qualified intervention. Sometimes, for example, in severe frosts, the car may have difficulty starting. To start the Kamaz engine in winter, use some special techniques and tricks.
Instructions
Step 1
Check the battery charge level and, if necessary, restore the electrolyte density. In most cases, it is the malfunctioning of the batteries that causes difficulties when starting the engine.
Step 2
Load the battery with a small current to warm up the electrolyte and prepare for starting the engine. To do this, it is enough to turn on the dipped beam or side lights.
Step 3
After heating the electrolyte, turn off the headlights and everything that can take battery energy (stove, heated seats, windows, and so on). Otherwise, in low temperatures, the starter motor may not have enough power to start the engine.
Step 4
If for some reason it was not possible to start the engine on the first attempt, restart it after 15-20 seconds. After three to four unsuccessful attempts, rest the batteries to prevent premature discharge.
Step 5
In the event that a problem with starting the engine arose after replacing the fuel system filters, remove the air by bleeding it before turning on the ignition system. To do this, open the appropriate fittings and supply fuel using a hand pump. Carry out the procedure until fuel without air bubbles flows out of the fitting hole.
Step 6
With the car cab lowered, depress the accelerator pedal all the way, and then engage the starter. Keep the accelerator pedal in this position until the engine starts to give maximum and stable even rpm. After the engine enters normal operating mode, release the pedal.
Step 7
When starting the KamAZ engine in very low temperatures, first disconnect the working element of the air filter. Use the help of a partner to create additional air draft in the system. To do this, prepare a lighted newspaper harness in advance and bring it to the air intake, at the same time turning on the starter. When doing this, proceed with caution, observing fire safety measures. With this forced method, the engine usually starts without problems.
