Fans of powerful car acoustics often set themselves the goal of equipping a car with a powerful subwoofer, but such tuning is associated with a number of controversial issues. One of them is the connection and location of the amplifier.

Step 1
Place of installation. In order not to disturb the interior of the car, the amplifiers are installed hidden, this also applies to the wiring. Low-power amplifiers can be installed under the front or rear passenger seats. Such devices do not heat up much, therefore, the presence of constant air access is not so critical for them. Amplifiers with a power of more than 1.5 kW should be placed in the trunk, on the back of the rear seats, on the rear window shelf in sedans.
Step 2
Power network connection. The amplifier is powered directly from the battery terminals through a fuse; high-power devices require a capacitor to be connected to the network. A current of several tens of amperes can pass in the power network, so you need to connect the amplifier with a solid copper wire with a cross section of 10 or 16 sq. Mm. In places where the wire passes from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment, it is necessary to install stuffing box seals, which ensure tightness and prevent the wire from rubbing against the metal edge. On the amplifier, the wire is connected to the Power terminal block: the positive contact to the terminal marked + 12V, the negative contact to the GND terminal.
Step 3
Signal wire laying. A signal wire should be routed from the radio to the amplifier. The place of installation should be chosen as far as possible from the main bundle of standard wiring and the amplifier power line in order to avoid induction of interference. The number of signal wires is equal to the number of connection channels, and a single-core wire must be pulled from the radio for remote power control, which must be connected to the Remote terminal. The signal wires are connected to the Input connector group on the amplifier and the corresponding radio connectors.
Step 4
Connecting acoustic wires. The acoustic wires do not need to be protected from interference, so they can be run anywhere under the car's trim. On the amplifier, the wires are connected to the Out contact group, observing the polarity with the contacts on the subwoofer. On high power amplifiers, speaker connectors may have screw terminals.
