A cabin filter is necessary to clean the air inside the car from dust, various contaminants and odors. This appliance must be changed periodically to maintain a comfortable interior environment.
Instructions
Step 1
The cabin filter in the Hyundai Accent is located behind the glove compartment, often referred to as the glove compartment. Before starting work, remove all objects and things from the glove compartment so that they do not fall on the floor of the car. After that, open the drawer and lightly press on the side walls to release it from the latches. Remember that the walls flex quite easily, so don't try to push too hard on them.
Step 2
Pay attention to the vertical bar, which is the cover of the cabin filter you need. Carefully remove it and move a little to the side of the draft, which fixes the recirculation flap. Then get ready to go blind. Feel the small lever on top of the filter cover with your hand. After that, grab it and pull it down, and then towards you. Remember that you need to act very carefully, otherwise you risk breaking off the part.
Step 3
After the top mount is released, lift the cover up until it disengages from the bottom engagement and remove it. Then remove the top half of the cabin filter and then the bottom half. Throw away the used appliance or, after washing, reinstall it.
Step 4
When installing a new filter, pay attention to the orientation of the filter halves: the groove is at the top and the recess must be at the bottom. Place the bottom half first and then the top half. Then install the cover. Be careful not to break it. If you are unable to close the upper lock, then feel the lower lock in the desired groove by touch.
Step 5
Check the fastening of the locks by pulling the cover towards you. If the top lock does not pop out, then the installation is correct. After that, put the traction in its place and close the glove box.
